My boss has a friend who stopped by work the other day to catch up. The first thing out of Charlene's (my boss) mouth was "Wow, you've lost weight!" Come to find out she had! She saw an episode of "The Doctors" about something called the "17 Day Diet", ordered the book, and lo and behold lost weight. Granted she was only about a week into the diet, she still lost I think 6lbs.
That day Charlene and I ordered the book. It shipped yesterday so we should receive it tomorrow (Wednesday). I'm very excited to read it and start this diet. From the research we've done while waiting, it looks more like a life style change than an actual diet. There's no counting points or anything. It looks like you're learning a healthier way to eat and what foods you should be eating over the course of 4 cycles, each being 17 days. I believe cycle 4 is the last cycle to maintain your weight and you can repeat cycles 1-3 as need be to reach your goal weight.
I'm excited. I have approximately 50lbs to lose. That's my goal. We're weighing in tomorrow morning and that will be our official start weight. My goal is 50lbs this year to lose. I hope we have success with this "diet". Like anything, I think alot of it is going to be willpower and the need to be strong and stick with it. I know it won't be easy. I know we'll have our days that are harder than others. I know, undoubtedly, there will be times we cheat. But you pick yourself up and start fresh immediately. What will make this easier, is I have a partner to do this with. I won't be trying to conquer this on my own. Charlene is not only my boss but she's my 2nd mom and a great friend and we'll be doing this together.
I'm excited. I'm excited to lose weight. Be healthier. And most importantly - be HAPPIER. :)
